Here’s the finished product. Nevermind that it’s on Jacob and nevermind that he’s wearing a hockey turtleneck under it. It turned out nice, just way too big. I made it in a size M which said would fit 16-18 pounds. Jacob is over 25 pounds and it’s even a little big on him…

Gracie’s Dress

I’ve decided to try my hand at actually making a dress from a pattern for Grace. I’ve only made one thing in my life from a pattern and that was a tote bag that I made about 6 years ago. It did turn out, so I’m hopefull.

The dress is just a basic jumper with buttons down both sides toward the front. I’ll post pics as I go. I will be cutting the fabric as soon as it gets out of the dryer and gets ironed. I’m actually making two dresses with this pattern. One is going to be pink cordoury and the other is a purple paisley pattern. Both are really cute. So far I have $20 invested, including the pattern for both dresses. When I was at Wal-Mart they had some really cute fabric on the clearance rack for $1/yd. If the dress is easy enough to make, I may go back and get more. I also have a dress in my closet that I’ll never wear again and I’m tempted to use that to make another dress. Hopefully I can find some 1 inch buttons around here.
